Rock Band
Rock Band is a 6-week program giving students the chance to experience playing in a band setting. Though the ensemble is called "Rock Band," bands can choose which genre(s) they prefer to play, including pop, country, folk, etc.
Students will be grouped into bands based on their age and ability level. Each band will meet for weekly on Fridays at 1:00 PM for 45-minute sessions with an instructor who will lead the group and choose music for the band. Rock bands will be 3-5 musicians.
At the end of the 6 week program, each band will have a chance to perform in our Student Concert.
Ages:
7-18
Instruments:
- drums
- guitar (acoustic and/or electric)
- bass guitar
- piano/keyboard
- voice
- Additional instruments (fiddle, saxophone, harmonica) are welcome as well.
Experience required:
Students should have experience playing complete songs on their instrument, and should feel comfortable in their ability to learn several new songs within the span of 6 weeks. Song selections will be tailored to students' current ability level.
